AND BABY MAKES 4!

This month has been magical. I wanted to do as much with Chloe as possible before baby brother got here so we were out and about everyday. We went to the parks around town with friends in the mornings and did crafts at the house in the afternoons. On Saturday the 2nd i took her out to Carmel Valley Village for the Fiesta. I used to love the Fiesta when i was growing up so it was fun to take my baby there to play. She loved the bounce house (surprise) and the fast train ride around Tularcitos. They had a petting zoo and lots of food so we both were happy :o)

My 38week Dr. visit was on the 4th and we scheduled to meet at the hospital on the 13th if the baby doesn't come on his own before then. We're getting closer.....
In the meantime i had my "last supper" with the girls (Jennifer, chrissy and Lauren) at Robata's on the 6th and it was great. Great food, great company and as usual, lots of laughs.

On the 11th we had our 39week visit with the Dr. and he gave me the "ok" to drive up to San Jose to pick my dad up from the airport. Chloe and I had a nice little ride up to get him and she bonded with him by the time we got back to the car from the baggage claim. He stayed with us for a week and it was much needed. Chloe had never really spent much time with him and she just thinks he's a blast. I think he's pretty special too so he's got two fans.

Dr. Ramseur told us to call the hospital at 7am on the 13th to see if they had a bed for us. We called at 6:59am and they told us to call back at 9am. Bummer.
We called back at 9am and they told us to call back at 11am.
We called back at 11am and they told us to call back at 1pm.
We called back at 1pm and they told us to call at 3pm. (are you catching on here?)
Then, we got a call from them at 2:30pm saying to come right in! But, two minutes later they called back and said they couldn't take us quite yet and to call back at
4pm if they hadn't called us yet.
When we called at 4pm they informed us they were still full and that "maybe" they could get us in by Monday the 18th. FIVE DAYS FROM THEN!!! Everyone was so stressed out from the emotional roller coaster all day we figured we would just order a pizza and relax. Wouldn't you know it, by the time we hang up from ordering the pizza, the hospital calls and tells us to be there in 30 minutes!!!!! We cancelled the pizza and took off. Chloe stayed at the house and watched movies with Grandpa Ken until she went to stay the night at Grandma Shelley's.
Two epidurals and twelve hours of labor later, Wyatt Timothy Coe was here!

Wyatt was born on August 14th at 10:30am and weighed 8lbs12oz. He was 21ins and adorable! My little Leo has arrived.
He came out with his eyes wide open and as plump as can be, adorable.
He was eating within the first few minutes and that's pretty much all he wants to do.
He looks just like daddy and is the sweetest. Chloe thinks he is the best and wants to love him.....to death almost. She asks to hold him all the time and just wants to smother, i mean, cover him in kisses. I can tell this is going to be interesting.

We went home from the hospital the morning of the 15th and the visitors started to flow in. We were so happy for everyone to meet our lil' Wywy.
Thank you to Grandpa Ken, Grandma Shelley, Grandma Nancy and Nanu, Kory and Merissa, Susie, Jay, Aedan & Brit, Chrissy, Lauren, Erin M., Erin J. and Joel for coming to welcome us home. To everyone who brought us meals for the next 3 weeks, we love you all!!!!!! If it weren't for you we would have starved.

Of course Brian got called to Jury Duty on the 25th and ended up serving (he got called the week after Chloe was born too) LMAO! That's ok, the $25 he got paid for two days of work in SALINAS was totally worth it. Luckily he took 5 weeks off work to be home so it wasn't too bad.

Wyatt had his first weight check on the 19th and only went down to 8lbs7oz. Not bad!
By the 27th he was back up to 8lbs14oz. He's an eater! (and a sleeper, god bless him)

I want to say Happy Birthday to Merissa on the 11th, Lauren on the 14th, Uncle Tony and Aunt Thelma on the 15th and Grandma Nancy on the 28th! Now we have a new birthday to add to the list!

July 2008

This is the month of swim lessons! Chloe is now loving swim lessons, Monday thru Friday for 45 minutes. Her first session she was so fearless that they let her move up to the class for 4 and 5yr olds. Now i don't have to get in the pool with her (at 8mos pregnant) Yea!!

We met our friends at Caledonia Park for the 4th of July and enjoyed the bounce houses. Chloe and Cole used it as an opportunity to wrestle (of course). That night we enjoyed the fireworks over Monterey Bay with the Montgomery family. Needless to say the kids slept good that night!

My baby shower was on the 12th at the Rio Grill and i was so blessed to have my family from the bay area join us for a wonderful lunch. My mom did a beautiful job at organizing the whole thing and i really enjoyed the time with all my friends and family. Such gernerous and wonderful people! I am so lucky.

Chloe also started a new dance class the morning of the 12th and she had a blast! Girlfriend loves an excuse to throw on a tutu :o)

On Monday the 14th we had another ultrasound to check babie's growth. He is still growing a week ahead of schedule so we want to keep an eye on him so we get him out before he's big enough to shave. We got some cute pictures to share.....and yes, he's as big as he feels!

This month we have the Red Bull Grand Prix at Laguna Seca and Kory came into town to enjoy the festivities. He brought Merissa with him so we got to spend the evening with them on the 17th and Kory came over with Jonathan Burns on the 18th. Chloe loves it when they are here! On firday night all the bikes are parked down on Cannery Row for show so we took Chloe down there to check it out. She let us know what all her favorite bikes were.
Sunday the 20th, Brian and Joel got up at the crack of dawn and were at the races by 7am! They spend the whole day out at the track and had one of the best days ever. Like two kids in a candy store. It was Joel's first time out and he LOVED it. Brian was so happy to have someone willing to get up as early as him to be there first thing.
On the 21st we had dinner with Merissa and Kory and got to relax and enjoy their company before they left to go back to Oakland.

Saturday the 26th was Chloe's friend Merrick's 3rd birthday. He had a great little birthday BBQ that evening and we met up with the Montgomery's after for the Feast of Lanterns at Lover's Point. It was soooooo cold but the kids were great. They loved the fireworks and show over the water. They were actually paying attention to what was going on this year. I can't believe how big they are getting.

It was an action packed month and we are gearing up for the arrival of the new baby. Chloe can't wait to meet her little brother and either can we!

June 2008

June, June, June! Always a wild month for us.
Chloe started a new Dance Class on the 7th and she really enjoyed it. Mostly kids that are a tad bit older which always works well for her. She learned a lot and managed to pay attention the full 30 minutes. That's huge!

We were supposed to go to my dear friends wedding the afternoon of the 7th but instead we ended up jumping in the car as soon as Brian got home from work and rushing to Clovis to visit Brian's grandmother in the hospital (she had a heart attack) and lend some support to the family. Grandma was released on Tuesday the
10th and has been such a trooper. All is well and she is home and happy. Thank God!

Uncle Kory came to visit on the 10th which is always a treat. It was short but sweet!

Father's Day was fun. We took Brian over to Chilli's for some beer and ribs. Our friend Jeff was nice enough to join us which just made Chloe's night (she really enjoys "uncle Jeff") After dinner we met the Grandmas back at the house for some yummy "Death by Chocolate" Cake from layers and Father's day gifts.

This month we had two OB appointments and both were great. Our visits are getting closer together as the due date approaches. Baby is healthy, mommy is healthy.

Brian and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary on the 21st. I can't believe how fast time flys. We enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.

On Sunday the 22nd i surprised Brian with an early Birthday BBQ. Friends and family came over and we did the whole birthday thing. Cake, presents, beer etc....
He was pleasantly surprised and was given some wonderfully unique gifts for the big THREE FIVE! Our friends the Montgomerys gave him a really neat boulder for his rock crawling pile in the backyard (sounds funny but he was super stoked). His mom gave him a sock stuffed with money (for parts for his rock crawler) and Chloe and I gave him some much needed clothes.

The next day was the real treat for Brian. It was "Moto Monday" at Laguna Seca and he was able to take his bike out for a few laps on Laguna Seca Raceway. He came home like a kid in a candy store. He was high for a week on that experience. Best thing he's ever done on his bike i think. After all the weekend excitement we just hung out on the 24th (his actual bday) and went to breakfast. After breakfast we took Chloe to see Kung Fu Panda. Our first family trip to the movie theatre :o)

On Monday the 30th Chloe and i started Parent/Tot swim at the Lover's Pt. Pool. We signed up a month or two ago and i was asking myself what i had been thinking to do such a thing. I didn't think about how sexy i would be feeling in a bathing suit this far into the pregnancy. Oh well! It's for the kid right?!

Hope everyone else had a great month. Till July!

May 2008

May was the month for changes. on the 3rd, the "Binky Fairy" came and took Chloe's pacifiers. We were pleasantly surprised with how easy the transition went. We thought our world would be turned upside down for at least a week but it was much better than expected. She didn't take naps for the first 5 days, but on the 5th day she started sucking her thumb and naps resumed :o) Oh well, girls got an oral fixation, what can we do?!
Chloe had her 2nd haricut this month also. It was only and inch or two but still too much for daddy to handle. He wasn't happy but got over it quickly.
I had my Glucose test this month for gestational diabetes and passed with flying colors. The Dr. said my numbers were phenominal and that i showed no sign of anemia either. He said my numbers were above average healthwise and was very happy for me.
Mother's Day was nice as well. We had dinner with Grandma Shelley and Grandma Nancy at Dos Amigos and exchanged gifts. Chloe loves eating out now and is such a pleasure, as long as we don't stay too long. Our gift to Grandma Shelley was a "generational photo shoot" with her, Chloe and I. We had a fun day and get the pictures back on June 6th. Can't wait!
We also had the privilage of a visit from Uncle Kory & Auntie Rissa, everyone loves it when they come <3
There was a little heat wave on the 15th-18th and we spent a few days in a row at the beach. On Brian's day off we went out to Carmel Valley and had a picnic too. It is so beautiful out there, home sweet home!
Memorial Day was a warm day as well and we had a BBQ at our friends house up the street. They have to boys, 10 & 12yrs old and Chloe had a great time running wild with them. They had sword fights and played in the dirt....lots of fun boy stuff!
On the 30th, mommy had a great night out with the girls. We had dinner and drinks at PF Changs, then walked over to the theatre for "Sex in the City" It was sold out but we were lucky enough to buy our tickets ahead of time and have someone wait in line to save us great seats. I loved it!

April 2008

Miss Chloe started tap classes on the 3rd. She really enjoyed the first class, not so much the second and was sick for the third and fourth class. Needless to say, we are gonna pass on tap for the upcoming month and try to find a ballet class (she has been begging for it but i can't find one for her age)

On the 7th we all went into Seaside and hiked up the sand dunes with our sled to go for some rides. It was a beautiful day and you could see for miles. After the dunes we went to a new park and out to lunch. Brian always has fresh ideas for play, he's such a good daddy!

The next day wasn't as sunny so we took Chloe to MyMuseum for the morning. She always has a great time there and a good nap afterwards.

The weekend of the 12th and 13th was the Good Old Days in Pacific Grove and we did it up. We started with the parade at 10am on saturday and went into town to ride the rides and partake in the culinary delights (faire food). It was sunny, hot and beautiful. Chloe rode the rides for the first time and realized that even though they may look fun, it's a different story once you get on. That said, she did find some rides that were well suited for her and she had a great time as usual. That night, Chloe and I had dinner at the Red House with 3 of my girlfriends and left Brian at home to get some peace and quiet. Chloe's first official "girl's night".

Sunday was just as much fun! Uncle Kory and Aunt Rissa came to town and we went to Good Old Days again. Kory took Chloe on the train ride and got the conductor to let her blow the train whistle. Later the evening we had our friends join us for a BBQ. The men tended the meat and the woman were left to wrangle the kiddies. Next time we will be sure to trade jobs :o)

Monday the 14th we took Chloe to the Aquarium to check out the "million dollar renovations to Splash Zone". There were a few new things but overall it was not much different. We always enjoy a trip to the Aquarium though so it was not a waste.

Unfortunately the rest of the month was pretty much a wash. Chloe got very sick on the 16th and ran a fever for the next 11 days. We had 2 trips to the Dr's office in 2 days (fever topped out at 104.1) and a round of antibiotics which she developed an allergy to after 6 days. That resulted in 4 days of full body hives and miserable itching. On top of the hives she developed a second rash that caused her skin to turn purple. We have never been so worried for her before, it was scary!

Of course mommy and daddy got sick too and everyone pretty much coughed all night and laid around all day. What else can you do, right?

May is sure to be full of surprises too so stay tuned!

Pictures from March 08'

March 2008

March 2008

March has been an exciting month for us, this year more than usual :o)
The first week of the month was exceptionally sunny and warm so we spent every day at the Beach or Caledonia Park. Chloe's two favorite places to play!
Uncle Kory came to visit from Oakland on the 10th and stayed for a few days. Chloe was so affectionate towards him. She just couldn't get enough hugs and kisses, it was too cute for words. It was really hard to watch them say goodbye, i thought my heart was going to break for her.
The next weekend was Chloe's 3rd Birthday and despite the forcast of thunderstorms, we forged on and rented her a bounce house and space at Caledonia Park. It poured down rain all morning and stopped at 11am, the minute she got to the park. The kids came out and so did the sun! Even Brian and our friend Erin were in the bounce house with the kids. We had dry weather until 1:30pm, it started to sprinkle as the last guest was leaving. Talk about luck of the Irish!
That afternoon we had family come to town and had a huge family dinner at 17th St. Grill. The "Aunt Grammas" were here with our cousins (Thelma, Lizzie, Alej, Crissy, Jacob & Seth) and so were Aunt Susie, Uncle Jay, Great Gramma Mary and cousin Aedan. Gramma Shelley, Gramma Nancy and Nanu joined us as well. After a yummy dinner we all crammed into our house to sing Happy Birthday to Chloe and have cake. It was a wonderful night!
On St. Patrick's Day we had lunch with Susie, Jay, Gram and Aedan at Shane's Irish Bistro in Monterey. Everyone was decked out in Green with necklaces and all, it was fun! That night we had an Irish Feast with the Aunt Grammas and cousins at our house and just relaxed & laughed.
The next day was the 18th, CHLOE'S BIRTHDAY!!!! We had a very special morning that started off at the ob/gyn office. After a very long and frustrating ultrasound we found out a baby BOY will be joining us in August! Gramma Shelley came with us to help "preoccupy" Chloe and it was her first ultrasound, a special morning for everyone. After that we took Chloe to breakfast at her favorite restaurant, First Awakenings, she ordered for herself and then we took her to Caledonia for a bit to play. It was truly a magical day.
We spent Good Friday eating dinner and coloring Easter Eggs at our friends the Montgomerys'. The kids played, the moms talked and the dads had a few drinks :o) The next morning was a huge Easter Egg hunt by Dennis the Menace Park in Monterey. Chloe found a prize egg and won a special Easter box full of toys and candy. She's a lucky one! Easter dinner is at Gramma Nancy's house this year and that about does it for March. (as if that's not enough!)
